Community arts programs for children in the Western New York area. This self-directed effort included writing and producing children’s plays, variety shows, and several art classes/exhibits.

HIGHLIGHTED PRODUCTIONS:
Brownilocks Musical Play. (1993) An original musical play written and produced by Mary Ouimette-Kinney. More than fifty Western New York children committed to the year long production, which involved acting, singing, dancing, cooking, baking, making costumes, and designing and fabricating props. Approximately 150 visitors attended the show.
Colors of Spring Enrichment Program and Exhibit. (1995) An eight week program of environmental sculptures, crafts, and painted flower pots for fifteen pre-teen participants in preparation for an exhibit based on Springtime. Another twelve toddler-aged children attended a reception for the event where they engaged in simple crafts planned and hosted by the older children. Area recording artist “Roz” lead a sing-a-long.
Lady Ashley and the Palawan Turkeys Play and Exhibit. (1997) An original musical play by Mary Ouimette-Kinney involving more than twenty Western New York children who also prepared an exhibit of sketches and paintings about their family history.
Exploring Photography. (1998) A six-week long photography program involving a group of 12 children (ages 11-14) who learned how to use cameras, attended each of three trips to urban and rural locations to take photographs, and visited the studio of Frank M. Luterek, MFA for a photography shoot and guidance.
